About Laura Zentner
Speech-Language Pathologist
Laura Zentner (she/her) is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP) and is also certified through Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC).
Meet Laura Zentner
Laura obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Psychology from Acadia University in 2015 and a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Dalhousie University in 2018.
Following completion of her Master’s, Laura gained experience offering speech and language assessments and treatment to children/adolescents across a wide range of settings. She began her career at Boreal Clinic in Whitehorse, Yukon, where she provided services in hospital, clinic, daycare, home, and school settings. Missing home, Laura moved back to the east coast and subsequently worked for Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech as part of the autism services team in Cape Breton. In late 2021, Laura joined the Student Services team with the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education.
Laura offers clinical services for the following communication areas:
- early language development
- articulation/phonology (difficulties making speech sounds)
- receptive language (comprehension)
- expressive (use of language)
- stuttering/fluency
- AAC (Alternative & augmentative communication)
Laura loves her job because of the lasting impact her support can have on a diverse range of people and families. She adopts a client-centered and strength-based approach when working with her clients. As part of this, she is committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming services to neurodivergent individuals and their families and carers. As part of fulfilling this commitment, Laura continues her lifelong learning through reading, completing courses, and connecting with individuals with lived experience.
