Meet Jesslyn Richardson

Jesslyn obtained her Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Psychology from Cape Breton University in 2009 before going on to earn a Master of Arts in School Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2011. She is currently a member of the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia, and Psychologists in Schools Association. She has worked as a School Psychologist for the Chignecto Central Regional School Board since 2011, including work with the Colchester East Hants ADHD Clinic in collaboration with the school board and the Child, Adolescent, and Family Service (Mental Health Clinic, CEHHA) since 2014. Beginning in September of 2017, Jesslyn will be part of a lead team supporting complex behavioral cases, in addition to her role as School Psychologist.

Through these experiences, Jesslyn has developed a wide range knowledge and practical skills in the areas of assessment, behavior intervention, counseling, crisis response, and consultation with school-aged children, their families, and the school staff who support them. Jesslyn strongly believes in the importance of building a strong trusting relationship with clients and their families, providing comprehensive child-focused assessment, and engaging in research-based intervention strategies. Jesslyn’s main goal is to support each individual student in understanding their own strengths and challenges in order to develop skills to feel successful and reach their full potential.
